CHAMPAIGN FOR WATER PROJECT INAUGURAL CEREMONY

30TH SEPTEMBER 2019

Greatness begins when you realize the need to give back. Not just about giving but about making an impact and seeing every man as your equal.

Clean water, proper sanitation and environmental practices and good hygiene followed are essential for the survival and development of children. Today, there are around 2.4 billion people who do not use improved sanitation, and 663 million who do not have access to improved water sources.

Lack of these basic needs lives the children to be vulnerable. For children under five, water- and sanitation-related diseases are one of the leading causes of death. Every day, over 800 children die from preventable diseases caused by poor water, and a lack of sanitation and hygiene.

Just like UNICEF and other humanitarian organizations, KJM Foundation is working in line with the (WASH) program thus water, sanitation and hygiene in Ghana and Africa to improve water and sanitation services, as well as basic hygiene practices. The Foundation has laid in place various plans and strategies to help curtail the problems as far as these areas is concern

Studies have produced varying recommendations over the years. But your individual water needs depend on many factors, including your health, how active you are and where you live.

No single formula fits everyone. But knowing more about your body's need for fluids will help you estimate how much water to drink each day. Every day you lose water through your breath, perspiration, urine and bowel movements. For your body to function properly, you must replenish its water supply by consuming beverages and foods that contain water.

So how much fluid does the average, healthy adult living in a temperate climate need? The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine determined that an adequate daily fluid intake is:

About 15.5 cups (3.7 liters) of fluids for men

About 11.5 cups (2.7 liters) of fluids a day for women
